Coach Ali Winslow

Ali Winslow

In 1996 Ali Winslow began her career in endurance coaching and as a professional triathlete. After graduating from University of Pennsylvania with a BA/MS in Nutrition and Health Sciences, she left Philadelphia to research weight loss strategies at MIT. At the same time, Ali prepared for medical school, by attending Harvard University, for post graduate coursework where she obtained a certificate in Health Sciences. She continued her work in the field of exercise science and weight loss at MIT and Mclean Hospital in Belmont.

Early in the 1997 season, Ali began working at Health Works Fitness Centers in Boston, both as a personal trainer and cycling instructor where the seed for her was planted. It was here that she created the first group triathlon training program, and successfully guided 10 athletes to complete their first triathlon. This same year, she began to coach endurance athletes for marathons, half marathons and short distance triathlons. By the end of 1997, Ali completed 600 hours of training to become a certified Pilates instructor in the New York Method. It was clear by this time that Ali’s true calling was the in the field of endurance sport and triathlon coaching. So in 2001 she left MIT and joined Sports Club LA/Boston, teaching cycling classes, pilates, private training and group triathlon training where she stayed. In 2005 she left Sports Club LA/Boston to open Boston Performance Coaching her own company specializing in a unique brand of training, where she remains today.

Ali’s many personal accomplishments in the endurance sports world include 6 completed marathons, qualifying for Boston 3x. She has placed in the top 3 in her age group and the elite group in triathlons from the sprint to half ironman distance. Ali has qualified for the USAT Age Group Nationals and Worlds for both short and long course distance.

Ali is a USAT Level 2 Coach, Certified by the National Academy of Sport Medicine as a personal trainer and integration flexibility specialist. She also has an extensive background in nutrition and weight loss, as well as pre and postnatal training. When she’s not training athletes or training herself for competitions, Ali is running around after her two little boys, Fisher and Tanner!
