On Friday June 4th and Saturday June 5th, the city of Burlington, VT played host to the 2010 NSCA VT State Clinic. Held at the University of Vermont, this event featured a wide range of topics including: Coaching Speed vs. Fitness, Building Power & Speed Through Off Season Cycles, Training with Odd Implements, Energy System Development including Heart Rate Monitored Training, and many more.
On Friday evening, Coach Brown was part of a panel of speakers that fielded questions on the topics of athlete development, strength and conditioning, functional training, and general fitness from the audience. On Saturday, Coach Brown presented on the topic of Energy System Development covering effective methods of cardiovascular training and how to properly implement heart rate monitoring into your training system. The NSCA is the worldwide authority on strength and conditioning while supporting and disseminating research based knowledge and its practical application to improve athletic performance and fitness.
